What
do you do?
Each session
is
about 50 minutes
Teacher /Facilitator packets sent approximately 2 weeks before each visit.
A few related theme activities are available for small groups.
Story Telling with Puppets (preK - 1st grade) Children enjoy and then retell their favorite scenes from The Giant Cabbage. Animal habitat and size comparisons are shared.
Writing, Writing, Writing (1st - 3rd grade) Everyone has a story to tell. We share a favorite story together, and then summarize the main ideas. Children spend some time developing their own ideas and then begin to work through the writing process. A question and answer time about the book publishing process is included.
Sharing Books with Children (Adults) - The single most important thing that you as a parent can do to assist your child's development and contribute to their academic success is to READ together! PLEASE DO NOT be afraid - it's fun! Reading is FREE - It doesn't need electricity or batteries. You can do it! Let's practice and you can start reading more together tonight!

I am a full time teacher in Fairbanks, Alaska. I really,
really LOVE teaching kindergarten. My students and families are Awesome!
I love to write too, but it is something I do outside of school.
My students always come before "book things"

And YES!! I LOVE visiting with folks! I make author visits during our school breaks. For places in Alaska I usually schedule visits around weekends and after school hours. Summer time and school breaks for our district are also available times.
How
much
does it cost?
Half Day [4 hour]
Visits are $400 (US)
Full Day [8 hour ] Visits are $650 (US) - Places outside the Fairbanks
Northstar Borough require travel and accommodation expenses. Please
contact me and we can put something together.
